About the SCSA
The Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a safe and healthy construction industry in Saskatchewan. From residential home building to commercial, industrial and construction trades, we help reduce injuries, strengthen safety culture and ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

Members
Companies registered with WCB and categorized under the CLASS B – BUILDING CONSTRUCTION Rate Codes are automatic members of the SCSA.
The SCSA serves member companies that employ workers in building construction and are registered with the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) for residential, commercial & industrial construction, and construction trades.
SCSA Members receive preferred pricing on instructor led training and other SCSA resources.

As a member of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA), the SCSA works with other provincial and territorial construction safety associations across the country to promote best practices, share resources and collaborate on the development of programs. Together, we raise safety awareness and deliver certification that meets national standards.

Building Construction Rate Codes for Members
SCSA membership is based on the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board’s rate classification of industries.
Employers in Building Construction rate codes B11, B12 & B13 are all members of the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association.

B11 - Construction Trades
- Plumbing, heating, roto-rooter service, air conditioning, furnace repair and service, sewer and water maintenance
- Dairy equipment installation, livestock feeding equipment installation
- Fire sprinkler installation
- Commercial kitchen and cafeteria equipment installation
- All electrical work, solar panel installation
- Mechanical sheet metal work and duct work
- General mechanical contracting offering a combination of all related trades
- Refrigeration exclusively
- Manual chimney sweeps
- Swimming pool installation, residential and commercial
- TV and radio antenna erection, lightning rod installation and wind velocity monitoring

- Construction of grain elevators and inland terminals
- Greenhouse construction and installation
- Caisson work and pile driving
- Underwater work incidental with industry subject to the Act
- Industrial construction, such as boilers, conveyors’ scales, mine buildings, oilfield construction, oil derricks, silos, water towers, tanks, filtration and sewage plants, pumping stations, compressor stations, refinery stations, treater houses, dragline erection, chimney stacks, tower construction and services, industrial plant work, industrial pipefitting, wind turbine installation and repair
