Effective Claims Management Training

Description

Effective claims management involves a proactive approach towards minimizing costs associated with workplace illness and injuries, all while supporting workers and their families throughout the process. This requires a well-developed safety program and injury management. Safety programs support the prevention of work-related illness and injury. Injury management focuses on return to work through the use of modified duties, legal obligations of employers to maintain workers’ confidentiality, communication with injured workers and the use of standardized documents.

This one-day course is designed to help employers, managers, supervisors and human resource personnel involved in Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims. Participants learn how to establish an effective claims management program and manage costs associated with claims. The course covers incident reporting per WCB requirements and the advantages of having modified duties and a return-to-work program.
