Safety Auditor Training

This two-day course is designed for owners, managers, supervisors, and individuals involved in preparing and evaluating a company’s safety and health program against Certificate of Recognition (COR®) and Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR®) standards. Participants will demonstrate understanding by conducting an audit workshop during class comparing the program against audit standards.

  • Purpose and types of audits
  • How to conduct an audit
  • How to complete the COR®/SECOR® Audit Tool
  • How to prepare and submit self-audit
  • How to prepare and submit your company’s internal audit

Course Length: 2 days (16 hours)

Pre-requisite: Safety Management

Maintenance of Certification

  • Submit your self-audit proficiency within 8 months of course completion to obtain auditor status
  • Submit one audit within the 3-year certification period

 

Re-Certification

Those who have taken Safety Auditor Training in the last three years and have maintained auditor status through submission of a maintenance audit may qualify for Safety Auditor Re-certification Training. Find out if you qualify by emailing Program Services: scsaprograminfo@scsaonline.ca

 

CEU Credits

Course hours can be used towards the Gold Seal Certification application for credits, subject to credit approval upon review. Note: every 6 hours of learning equals 1 Gold Seal credit.
