Instructor Led Training

The SCSA remains the trusted safety partner of the Saskatchewan construction industry since 1995. Experienced SCSA instructors deliver construction safety training either in person or online. Courses are interactive with discussions, questions and group activities. Learners receive digital manuals and resources from course materials developed by industry professionals.

Member pricing for instructor led courses is $50 per day. All courses conclude with a digital/printable certificate and access to permanent training records through epassport.

WHMIS 2015 Train The Trainer – 2020 Edition

	Description This one-day course has been developed to support the needs of the Saskatchewan construction industry. Upon completion of the course and successful completion of the accompanying exam, learners receive a certificate as an approved WHMIS 2015 Trainer allowing them to present both Generic and Site Specific WHMIS to employees within their organization. This course provides generic WHMIS 2015 training to meet regulatory requirements and supports all needs related to the Certificate of Recognition (COR®), Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR®), National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO™), and National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA) program requirements.
	Course Focus Overview of WHMIS 2015 Roles and responsibilities of suppliers, employers and workers in WHMIS 2015 Four parts that make up WHMIS 2015 WHMIS hazard groups and classes Different types of labels required and the label elements Elements and purpose of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Train the Trainer component to assist in assessing your site-specific training needs Practices and approaches to making WHMIS work for you and your organization

	Course Length: 1 Day (8 hours)		Certification Certificate has a 3-year expiry Satisfies audit requirements for COR® and SECOR® job-specific training Compulsory course for NCSO™ and NHSA™ certification Satisfies course requirements for COR® recognition HCSAS, MSA, Service Hospitality, and SASWH recognize this training

	Maintenance of Certification To maintain WHMIS 2015 Train The Trainer certification, qualified trainers must complete one of the following options before the three (3) year expiration date: Option 1: Challenge the exam and successfully pass with an 90%, or Option 2: Attend the 1-day WHMIS 2015 Train The Trainer - 2020 Edition course (this step is required every six years) WHMIS Worker Kits & On-Demand Training This course is complimented with a Trainer’s Kit, which includes presentation material that can be modified to suit the need of the organization and jobsite. The On Demand WHMIS Worker Training course provides employees who handle hazardous products with the general WHMIS knowledge required by regulations. Employees still need to be trained on site-specific hazards.

	CEU Credits Course hours can be used towards the Gold Seal Certification application for credits. Note: every 3 hours of learning equals 1 Gold Seal credit. This course may be eligible for BCRSP CPD points through the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals.
